3M™ repulpable web processing double coated tape R3227 is a temporary splicing tape used to aide in the processing of paper within the paper mill. The backing and adhesive is engineered for optimum strength for every type of splice - flying, overlap, butt and general purpose. It provides the required shear strength, high tack and heat resistance necessary for dependable productivity. 3M™ repulpable web processing double coated tape R3227 is a 3.5 mil, double coated, repulpable splicing tape designed for a variety of general purpose core starting, pull-through and temporary splicing applications. This tape is comprised of a tissue carrier backing and a repulpable adhesive designed to offer high shear strength, high tack and heat resistance required to perform at temperatures of up to 400 deg F/200 deg C. The tissue backing is thin and porous to allow adhesive penetration of sheet, and engineered for optimum strength for every type of splice. Mounted on a paper liner, this tape is easy to handle and apply. 3M™ repulpable web processing double coated tape R3227 is FDA compliant and complies with regulations for repulpable tape. 3M™ repulpable web processing double coated tape R3227 features a repulpable adhesive that prevents broke contamination from non-repulpable splice material. It meets or exceeds TAPPI UM-213, procedure A, FDA complaint 21 CFR 176.170 (components of paper and paperboard in contact with aqueous and fatty food).
