The most heavy duty of coated abrasive discs, full resin bond on vulcanized (cotton fibers treated under intense pressure and heat) fiber backing. Designed for applications ranging from heavy stock removal to surface blending. Used with back up pads on portable angle grinders. The Red Heat® AVOS® F981S coarse grit fiber locking see thru disc features a ceramic alumina abrasive equipped with a self-lubricating grinding aid to ensure fast, cool beveling, blending, deburring and stock removal. To improve strength and minimize tearing, the disc comes with a heavier fiber backing. A great choice for demanding materials such as stainless steel, titanium and super alloys, the disc features a patented hole design that permits the operator to view the surface of the material. Offering up to 30% less heat for greater longevity, the disc includes a Speed-Lok® arbor mount that permits quick changes without tools.
