5 mil silicone double coated tape, featuring 3M™ silicone adhesive with a 1 mil polyester carrier (2 mil adhesive, 1 mil carrier). Designed with good initial quick stick, 3M™ double coated tape 96042 is built with a white, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) liner and a silicone adhesive on both sides of a clear, pet carrier. This silicone adhesive provides high bond strength to most silicones and difficult to bond to substrates, including silicone rubbers and foams. The strength of this quick stick adhesive builds over time while offering exceptional temperature performance. Its solvent resistant properties add durability and resilience. 3M™ double coated tape 96042 was designed with a single liner, providing stable differential release for easy application. In general, double coated tape is composed of a paper, film or tissue carrier that is coated on both sides with pressure sensitive adhesive. The adhesive is protected by a peel away liner that is removed at the time of application. These tapes can be applied by hand or with a dispenser. Double coated tape dispensers are available in a variety of configurations ranging from manual to fully automatic.
